Holiday Traditions

Alexandra, Emma, Madison and Bridger.....who wouldn't smile.

So we have a fun tradition every year to see the lights downtown. We stay at the Marriott downtown, go out to eat and see the lights. It's nice to just walk around downtown and not worry about traffic and parking. However I have been sick 3 out of the last 4 years we have done this. I dont know if its the hotel.....the room...(same room every year) or in my head. I'm going with .....my head, Im crazy! Here are some pictures from our evening.

You're So Cute!

Yesterday we went to a mexican restaurant for lunch. Madison had to use the restroom while we were there she said. "This bathroom is old!" "I think it was made in the 80's when the pioneers were here!" ok now I feel really old.

Go Utes!

Today Alexandra had a dr's appt in Provo. Now with the big game on Saturday.....we just had to take this opportunity to show our team spirit. After the appointment we drove to the Brick Oven for lunch. We do enjoy their pizza and beer....make that root beer. Sporting our Utah hats and clothing we proudly walked in and sat down. Looking around noticing.....we weren't the only Utah fans. Way to represent Ute fans! After lunch we had to stop by the creamery and get some ice cream. As we drove through the campus.....someone started yelling "GO UTES!" (Scott) We spotted more Utah fans on the drive. There were 3 old men on motorcycles all decked out in Utah wear driving around campus. Seems like we weren't the only ones with the idea today. Oh.....it was so fun!

Yesterday Scott came home with a suprise. Now Scott can't keep a secret from me very long and Christmas is his favorite time of year. He loves the smells, decorations, weather (wow! florida boy) and everything about Christmas. We are well into November and Scott came home with the first of what I hope will be many Christmas gifts. lol! Tickets to an Arizona Cardinals game on December 7th.

A Week Late

The girls were so cute for Halloween this year. Madison wanted her face painted green to go trick or treating. However she didn't like looking in the mirror.

I feel recently I have neglected my family. I don't know where September and October went. We have slept in more hotels and other homes other than our own this fall. Its been an awesome college football season beginning with Utah beating Michigan. We watched that game from the San Diego airport waiting for our plane to Seattle. Aaron was speaking in church that weekend just before he left for Brazil on his mission. Since then we have traveled twice to Florida. Scott has made that trip 3 times in the last 30 days. We celebrated my Grandfathers 90th birthday. Visited with Scott's mom in the hospital. Elated that she came home. We were saddened that she went back into the hospital. This time in the critical care unit, where she never regained consciousness. Margie Holsey passed away October 23, 2008. She was a young Mother and Grandmother of 62 years. Scott no longer has either parent living on this earth. He said he "feels alone."

The garden is wilted and lifeless. I missed planting bulbs this fall. I forgot to decorate my yard with my old cornstalks I grew all summer. Okay maybe I didn't forget, I ran out of time. Snow has already fallen at our house this month. I just keep thinking where did September go?
