Is there anything better than getting up before the kiddies and sitting next to a flower bed pulling weeds? (the best part is.... there aren't many weeds...just a few new sprouts of grass) Yes that is another one of my favorite summer activities....the grass is cold and its quiet outside and let me add the flower beds look great! I love summer!

I Love Summer

Last night after Scott and I went to dinner alone (that always means sushi) we picked up the girls and went to see fireworks. A neighboring city was having their city carnival and it ended last night with fireworks. I love fireworks!! I was a little worried about finding a place to park, finding a place to sit and not going crazy with all the people. But to our surprise we found a great parking spot.....and even better place to lay out our blanket with just enough time for the girls to run around and play before the fireworks started. Although we were a little close to where they shot them off....we ended up with ashes all over us. Scott's eyes watered all night and really looks horrible today. He looks like he got into a fight with Mike Tyson. I think he will be okay. or I hope he will be okay.

We have been able to see great displays of fireworks throughout the years....one that stands out was july 4th 1999 in Lake Tahoe. They shot the fireworks from off a boat on the lake. It was so pretty with the lake reflecting the fireworks. Then there was last year at the Stadium of Fire in a town near Orem.....starts with a P....i forget. Anyways last year the fireworks were so amazing, the whole time I kept thinking this must be the finale....no this must be the finale.

Seattle
We just got back from a trip to Seattle. As I looked at the photos....I saw a reoccurring theme. Miss Madison likes to pose and make funny faces. So I included a few of those photos starting with the first pic. We spent Father's Day weekend with the Millers. They are always great hosts and make us want to move in with them! We really want to buy the land next to them! no joke! One day....one day we will own some land in the Northwest! Kayaking, Pikes Market, yummy food and low tide excursions made for another great vacation to Seattle. Thanks Cheryl and Rick!
Our Family...plus pouty lips from Miss Madison. She just informed me they aren't called pouty lips....she said "its called posing mom!"

School ended on Friday and the girls had their 2nd dance recital. I was too sick to go to Fridays recital .....lucky for me they had 2 nights of recitals. If I didn't have a fever I would have gone. This is their favorite part of taking dance...."the recital". Madison has said in the past....I don't want to practice I just want to dance on the big stage. She IS a superstar!

Stay Away!
The flu has hit the Holsey homestead. Alexandra was sick all weekend and missed 2 days of school. Madison is now sick, she will miss school today and probably the last day of school tomorrow. Booooooo! Oh and we have 2 nights of their dance recitals....this was not the week to get sick.
