Madison's Deep Thoughts

Madison: Mom, you know the lady who took my school pictures a long time ago?

Me: no...??

Madison: Well she had really sharp teeth. (and she tries to show me by making a face)

Me: Sharp teeth?

Madison: Yes! Sharp teeth like a witch. (again she pulls a face like she has "sharp" teeth)
Here is Madison and her friends at the birthday party. One lonely boy...looks excited to be there! We all had a fun time!

Birthday lunch with Grandma at Maddies choice....Panda.

I don't claim to be a baker....so please keep your comments nice.

Just look at her eyes! she was sooo excited!

Belated Birthday Pics

Madison wanted to ride the "train" for her birthday dinner. We rode the train downtown then up 4th south....to a little well know mexican place.....um Taco Bell.....yes her choice.

Rosa Parks aka Alexandra

Last week Alexandra had to do a report on a hero of her choice. She chose Rosa Parks as her hero. Then she dressed like her and sat on a bench for 1 hour without moving as if she were in the wax museum. She said she was so stiff afterwards....she did an amazing job!!!

Tragedy Hits the Homestead!

So it all started with a huge Christmas wreath that has been hanging on our house since Christmas. Today after much encouragement it was coming down. However as it was passed from the roof to the driveway and tossed to the cement.....4 baby birds fell out of their nest and also hit the cement. Alexandra screamed and ran away.....Scott thinking this fuzzy grey thing was a mouse stepped on it and yes....squished it. He looks at the remaining 3 birds and realizes they are not mice but baby birds. OMG!! So I call Tracy Aviary, they say if we put the nest and the birds back where they were the mama bird might come back and take care of the birds. Thats what we did. I found a basket and put the nest in the basket.....and the basket is now hanging from my house. A small odd looking basket is hanging from my house. It looks very strange but it makes me feel less like a baby bird killer. Cross you fingers for the birds....im sure a little prayer wouldnt hurt either.

Happy Birthday Madison!

A happy little girl woke up today with the biggest smile ever. She walked down stairs to the kitchen where Daddy and I were making cinnamon rolls and sliced strawberries with whipped cream. (her favorite) She gave us the biggest hugs and then said....."today is my birthday!!" She is sooooo happy today. Later I asked her to put something away...she said...."i can still help even on my birthday."

San Diego for Mother's Day!!

Hodads on Ocean Beach was our first stop after we flew in. The line wasn't too long.....and the onion rings were worth the wait!

We rented a convertible.....however the girls hated it! Check out how they looked as we drove down the street.

???? whats wrong with 8 or just 7 mph???

Madison did yell " I can't take it anymore!" You know I thought the same thing! Why didn't we leave the kiddies home and go by ourselves? Oh yeah....its because of them...I celebrate Mother's day!

Actual photo as we were driving down the 5

We stayed at the Catamaran Resort and Spa. They had parrots and Macaws on the property

This waterfall was in the lobby

The bay was on the property

It was foggy and a little chilly

Mission Beach was across the street

I love these girls!

Our pose

The pool was fantastic!

This little boy .....was sweet on Alexandra

prior to him doing this trick he said..." you should go under water and watch me." When he finished he said "that my friend is break dancing"

dinner in old town San Diego

This is a freak who broke into our room.... Bucket Man lives! Run for your life!!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. I couldn't ask for better girls or husband!
Thanks for a fun weekend!

Recess

Today I was volunteering in Madison's classroom. During recess I was pushing a few kids on the swings, Madison was waiting for a swing. After a while she got tired of waiting and walked away. A few minutes later a swing opened up and I yelled over to her that a swing was open. She ran over and thats when I saw another girl walking over to the swing. Madison ran and jumped on the swing....and then realized this girl also wanted to swing. Then it happened......Madison said "here you can swing." The girl sat down and Madison started to push her. I was far enough away that she didn't know I was watching this happen. What a sweet girl! I was so glad I was there to see this. (sometimes I dread volunteering....It makes me miss being a teacher) I love you Maddie!

Here we go again!

It's fitting that this month Miss Madison turns six years old....so the fun conversations will continue. Today as we were going over her reading homework, I had to sign the book for her and send it back to school. I signed my name in cursive. Madison said...."Mom my teacher can't read....chicken! (yes I'm sure this is something her teacher has said in class to encourage nice print.) "Chicken?!" I asked surprised....."This is not chicken writting this is cursive!" "Mom".... Madison contiues...."My teacher can't read cursive." (you know I am a teacher myself....I have even taught Kindergarten..... my handwriting is well.....an A+ .....infact I get complimented on my handwritting.....so I know this isn't the issue.)
So I print my name underneath my signature, just in case the teacher has any questions about my chicken scratch. I also include a cute little note about why I added the printed name. I thought her teacher might enjoy the story. However I now have a 5 year old crying because "Mom it's not funny! Why did you write that???"

Miss Madison is marvelous! Love you Maddie Moo!
