A Birthday Wish for Maddie Comes True

You only turn 8 once! Maddie skipped school and headed to the happiest place on earth! We surprised her with a character breakfast when we first arrived at the park. Then we only rode the rides Madison wanted to go on. That means no roller coasters.....or my favorite ride the Tower of Terror. :(Mickey Mouse!

Even Daddy got some love from Minnie!

On May 16th, PBS will be showing a documentary about the Freedom Riders of 1961. I was shocked to think of what happened in our country 11 years before I was born. But I am happy with the changes that happened because of the Freedom Riders. I am thankful for each and everyone of them who had a dream and knew what was right and followed that dream with their hearts. Thank you!

Disneyland Trip #1 .......and counting.

We spent 2 days at Disneyland last weekend. Oh how I love the happiest place on earth. We ended up buying season passes, so this is the first of many trips to come. The rides were a blast but would you believe I loved naming all the plants that were growing in the flowerbeds. I can't believe how much rosemary is planted there. It smells so good.
We told Madison she had to ride all the rides but could have 1 veto card. By the end of the day she had veto'd 4 rides. Oh man...... we need her to ride ALL the rides. Ü

Thanks Sweetie for another fun trip to SoCal. I can't wait for our next trip.

My Day!

Once again I was spoiled for my birthday. I really am spoiled and I appreciate it! Ü The day started with breakfast in bed from Alexandra and Madison. So yummy! Then while I was getting the girls ready for school, actually doing their hair which always comes with tears and crying "stop it mom!" I said "I wish someone would do my hair everyday." Well while Scott was taking the girls to school he called my hair dresser and made me an appointment for that morning to get my hair done. Awe....how sweet is that? almost made me cry. Ü Lunch was spent with Kelly at the Porcupine Grill, shopping that afternoon and then dinner with the family. At dinner they have a tradition of opening the roof, letting me write a wish down on a paper attached to a balloon and letting it go. It was very fun! And my wish came true.....I have a wonderful and loving family. Ü

Birthday Party #1

We had a birthday dinner for Yaya last week. She chose the menu- Crispy baked chicken, smashed potatoes, gravy, mac and cheese, broccoli, rolls and of course chocolate cake! It was all so yummy but the best part was all the family who came to celebrate with us.
Bunny ears was obviously the theme of the evening.

Alexandra aka Yaya~

Miss Alexandra is turning 11!

So in honor of my first little baby girl..... (who we thought was a boy) I will share a few fun facts about her

Summer 2003

Alexandra couldn't say her name when she was little so a cute nickname started. She called herself Yaya, then she could say Yadra but Yaya has stuck all these years. It is also much easier for her younger cousins to call her Yaya .....but please don't call her Ali, Lexi, Alex Alexandria she is Alexandra

Fall 2010

Alexandra broke her arm in 2nd grade during recess. She spent the rest of the day at school and didn't cry until she came home and saw me. Poor baby!

Summer 2000

Alexandra was born with jet black hair, perfect red lips and blue blue eyes. Her aunt comments that she looks like she is always wearing lipstick...but she isn't. Ü Alexandra tried to be born 7 weeks early......... well maybe that was my fault. Damn toxemia!

Winter 2011

Alexandra loves horses and went to Horse camp last summer...but she didn't like it. Go figure~ She sleeps with her knees bent (looks very uncomfortable) she kicks off her covers every night multiple times. (thanks Daddy for checking on her) She has a secret admirer who dropped off cookies for Valentines. She is smart, helpful, compassionate and a snuggler! Ü
